Mountain Trail Shawl
Mountain Trail Shawl is a cozy triangular shawl featuring a cabled border and a field of eyelets that imbue this shawl with so much texture. Easily worn with the triangle in the front, on the back, or on the side if you decide to use a shawl pin. I loved the idea of creating this shawl with lots of texture without becoming fussy, and keeping it simple and intuitive for a relaxing knit.
Knit from the middle to the end, one wing at a time, you’ll be decreasing your stitch count on every right side row. The pattern has video instructions for the easiest provisional cast on I’ve ever seen. You don’t even have to pick up the provisional stitches! No lost stitches or fussing about with this technique.
Written instructions guide you through the charts. Row-by-row written instructions are not included. Do not be overwhelmed. Once you work the first set of repeats, you will see how relaxing this pattern is. The border will require some attention on each right side row, the rest of the shawl is quite intuitive, and the wrong side rows of the shawl are all rest rows.
I hope you all enjoy knitting this one as much as I did! I’m already considering one in another color, so I might have to cast on another one…
