Mountain Trail Hat

This hat seems perfect to take us through autumn into the winter season whether we are hiking a mountain trail or dashing to the office or grocery store.

The wool I chose is the soft and plump Barrett Wool Co. Home Worsted. It works wonderfully to make the cables really stand out and creates defined twisted stitches along the brim.

This hat is a cable lovers dream. The cables begin in the brim and continue throughout the pattern. The hat is finished with a gorgeous faux fur pompom.

In personal news, one of my sweet daughters was married last week. It still doesn’t seem real. It was a small, simple wedding here at home. The ceremony was outdoors and the reception was also outdoors, but on our pavilion. It was a beautiful day. One of our closest friends performed the ceremony. When we were planning the wedding, my daughter had said she would love for him to marry them. He was ordained for the occasion. Before beginning the vows he thanked my daughter for allowing him to do this. It was the most beautiful marriage ceremony I’ve ever witnessed.

It will be about a month until the photographer has all the photos of the day, but I quite like this quick snap I took. I’ll add a few of the photographer’s photos to my diary page when they are ready, if you’d care to have a look then.

I hope you are enjoying a lovely autumn! Ours is just getting started. I’m kicking it off with lots of knitting outdoors now that the days are a bit cooler. That first crisp day is always the best, isn’t it! ♥

Happy Autumn! ♥
