Basket Dimensions: 15"- 17" diameter x 9"- 11" tall (measurement does not include the handles)
This basket will hold larger projects such as blankets or sweaters, several smaller knitting projects or household items. It is also a great size for storage around the home. It would look beautiful holding blankets, throw pillows or yarn.
Baskets are shipped flat. Full and easy instructions are included for soaking and shaping the basket. This typically takes only 1 - 2 minutes.
Not intended for small children.
Bolgatanga is the largest town in the Upper East region of Ghana, 20 miles from the border with Burkina Faso and near the southern edge of the Sahara Desert. Although the soil is fertile, the sun blazes all through the dry season, making agriculture very difficult. These market baskets provide much needed funds for thousands of families in the region, and today a large percentage of the villagers weave these baskets as their main income. By purchasing a basket here you are greatly helping the weavers in Africa.
