Busy Week

This week I managed to finish knitting my Color Craze shawl, designed by Tami Gore. I haven’t blocked it yet, that’s often a challenge with a cat who loves wool, especially mohair.

I finally finished spinning the braid of fiber I showed last time and am in the midst of plying it. I’m eager to knit my first pair of handspun socks!

After finishing my shawl I started this second sock.

This week was filled with a small kitchen remodel when we had to replace our old vent hood. The new one required a bit of reconstruction, and a search for basic supplies we needed amid supply-chain issues; we had to drive 3 hours for one piece of venting, for instance. But we are very happy with how it turned out. It fits flush under the mantle and works beautifully. We also replaced our cooktop, since the old one no longer regulated temperature; it was quite a challenge to cook on it.
